Whatever your job or situation, everyday life can be stressful. We all have difficulty relaxing at times. Here are 5 tips to make your daily life easier.
Smile to be in a good mood.
An American study published in the journal “Psychological Science” demonstrated that smiling was particularly beneficial for human beings. Researchers at the University of Kansas observed that the heart rate and stress levels of people subjected to heavy and stressful tasks decreased when they smiled. Smiling can literally put you in a good mood!
Fun fact.
Your smile doesn't have to be 100% natural. A forced smile also does the trick to lighten up a stressful everyday situation.
Take your time to eat.
In a society where everything is always moving faster, it is often difficult to sit down and enjoy the meal. However, eating slowly is important for your health. Taking your time to eat allows your body to understand when your fullness level is reached. But if you eat too quickly, you can easily eat more than you need. You will therefore have consumed far too much calories when your body finally senses the satiety signal sent by your brain. In this context, eating slowly allows you to eat when you are hungry. Whatever your meal, taking your time to consume it is also important when it comes to digestion. Eating a meal too quickly can cause stomach upset and bloating.
Walk to boost your creativity.
Researchers at Stanford University observed that the human brain was more likely to come up with creative ideas and novel solutions to a given problem after walking. The reasons for such a phenomenon, however, still remain poorly understood. Scientists hypothesize that walking would trigger the release of certain chemical mediators in the brain (like during physical activity) and stimulate certain brain areas. So if you're stuck with a problem, there's no need to persist in sitting in your chair and staring at the wall. Go out for a few minutes for a walk!
Did you know ?
In addition to being good for creativity, walking outdoors not only allows you to be more active but also to stock up on vitamin D, provided there are a few rays of sunshine of course.
Write down upcoming tasks.
Whether at work or at home, there is always something to do. Accumulating a large number of tasks and things to remember can be very stressful. In order not to get overwhelmed by what you have to do, it is very useful to keep a notebook of the tasks to be carried out. This will allow you not to fill your head unnecessarily and to clearly visualize what you still have to do! Are you having trouble getting organized? Our founder gives you his organizational advice.
Do sports daily.
Nothing better than practicing physical activity to combat everyday stress. During and after exercise, the body secretes endorphins as well as multiple neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine. The combination of these hormones generates an intense feeling of well-being and allows a reduction in stress levels. Regardless of the sport and its intensity, forcing yourself to be active will force your body and mind to relax. So get your sneakers on!
